If you get anywhere near the average of 250 applicants for a single position, that is 249 rejections that you need to send out. How can you maintain the candidate experience for these 249?

Communication and transparency are key for a positive candidate experience. The below templates provide you with an example of how to do that.

  1. Rejection template for candidates who have taken the Bryq assessment

  2. Rejection template for candidates who have not taken the Bryq assessment

This position has attracted a lot of interest and we simply had candidates who are a better fit for the specific role. For this reason, we will not be moving forward with your application.

I would like to stress that the assessment we use (Bryq) has no pass or fail; it is about matching candidates to specific job and company requirements, always compared to the other candidates who applied for the specific role. If you would like to access your results feel free to log-in here.

Although we will not be proceeding with your application at this stage, we would like to hear from you about any other job openings you may come across in the future. Please follow us on LinkedIn [ADD LINK] to get informed on our job postings and latest news.

Dear [FIRST NAME],

We are sorry to inform you that we will not be proceeding to the next stage of the recruitment process.

We are an equal opportunity employer; we take pride in fostering an Inclusive environment that attracts Diverse talent. For that reason, we do not judge our candidates by their resumes but use an objective assessment to match them to role and company requirements. You have elected to not complete our assessment and as a result, we cannot proceed with your application, as it would be unfair to all the other candidates in the same process. This is our policy and it is clearly outlined in our job postings.

You are welcome to apply again for any future roles that may interest you. Please follow us on LinkedIn [ADD LINK] to get informed on our job postings and latest news.

If you have any further questions or if you would like to share any further feedback please email me at [HR EMAIL].

We wish you every personal and professional success in your future endeavors.

All the best,
