Bryq is dedicated to uncovering the ideal candidate profile based on their inherent capabilities and potential, rather than simply screening resumes. To support this mission, we have developed a robust and reliable unified assessment using our proprietary technology and methodology that assesses cognitive skills, personality traits, and behavioral competencies.

Building on our success in delivering psychometrics at scale, we are now addressing the full spectrum of human fit by integrating hard skills with soft skills. This comprehensive approach provides an end-to-end data solution, effectively serving both sides of the talent equation.

By overlaying hard skills onto our solution, we ensure a holistic understanding of a candidate's potential and eligibility. While soft skills unlock a candidate's potential and suitability for a role, hard skills confirm their eligibility. This balanced approach ensures that talent matching is both contextually grounded and practically relevant, addressing scenarios where unconventional matches, such as a CEO becoming a janitor or vice versa, no matter how great that job is, are evaluated comprehensively to determine true job fit.

How does it work?

We leverage generative AI to extract relevant hard skills from your job description. When candidates apply, they can upload their resumes, or we can retrieve them from a connected ATS if supported.

Our system then scans each candidate's CV to identify which job-related hard skills they possess. You will receive an overall match ratio, providing a clear overview of the candidate's eligibility based on the required hard skills. This ratio serves as a valuable indicator, offering tangible information to enhance your hiring decisions and ensure a better job fit.

Candidate skills are stored in our system to enable talent matching across various job opportunities. Instead of measuring hard skills, we collect them with the aim of putting talent first and opening up new career possibilities.

How to enable the Hard Skills Feature

Currently, the feature is in Beta Testing mode meaning that it can be turned on and off for customers who opt in to participate in beta test the feature.

Once you have it enabled in your account you can start creating jobs and benefit from extracting your uniquely defined hard skills based on your Job Description. While the Fit Score will remain your go-to guide for assessing a candidate's potential, hard skills will offer supplementary insights for a more comprehensive evaluation of your talent.

Creating a job

When you click New Job, Hard Skills will be shown right below the indicators section. By default the toggle is ON you can decide that Hard Skills are not important for a job and turn it off and vice versa.

For Hard Skills to work and start collecting hard skills, you need to use your Job Description. So, assume you add a Job for a Product Manager and paste your job description in the relevant box, then click Generate Profile.

A loading animation appears waiting for the hard skills to be generated.

📌 You can save your job while hard skills collection will run in the background.

📌 During the Beta testing phase the recommended hard skills are not editable. In future versions, this option will be enabled. At this stage, we advise editing your description and regenerate the profile to capture any missing skill.

Candidate CV Matching

Once a candidate is invited to take the assessment they will need to type their name and optionally upload their CV, alternatively the CV will be retrieved from the ATS you are using.

Candidate Hard Skills Matching results

Our system scans the candidate's resume and matches their skills to the ones identified for the job. An overall match ratio is populated and is visible in the applicant table in Column Hard Skills.

📌Bryq does not measure hard skills; we collect them. We use hard skills as a complementary indication alongside our validated psychometric fit score. This approach allows us to capture not only a candidate's potential but also their capability to perform the job effectively.

You can set on/off the column Hard Skills via the Edit Columns icon.

Once you select a candidate a new tab Hard Skills appears. Heading towards this section you will find the following information:

1. Overall Hard Skills Match: Indicates the candidate's skills ratio compared to the skills defined for the specific job.

2. Candidate Summary: A brief overview of the candidate's resume with an external link to their CV.

📌 This summary has been generated directly from the candidate’s resume using generative AI.

3. Matched Skills: The skills identified by our system as relevant to the job, categorized into "must-have" and "nice-to-have." Highlighted in blue skills indicate those that have been matched.

If the anonymized toggle is on, the resume summary and external link to the CV will be disabled, ensuring no personal data is visible.

If the candidate has not uploaded a CV, this section will indicate that there are no results to show.
